nternational non-profit and independent organization - Transparency International, founded in 1993 to fight corruption, has published an annual Corruption Perceptions Index, based on 13 independent studies, seven of them contain expert opinions, the others - the results of surveys of the business community. The rating included 180 countries with an estimate in the range from zero to 10: the lower the score, the higher of corruption of a state.
Countries with low levels of corruption in 2009, recognized as New Zealand, Denmark, Singapore, Sweden and Switzerland. The most corrupt country on this index is: Somalia. At the very bottom of the rankings are as Afghanistan, Myanmar, Sudan and Iraq.
A country with a notorious reputation for cheaters - Nigeria was on the 130 site, and our great country, Russia has fallen far below it and is on 146 place, in one step with Zimbabwe.
From the island of the best position is occupied by the Caribbean States: Barbados 20 site located just behind the developed countries such as Japan, England and America, St. Lucia on 22 th ahead of France, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines 31, and Dominique place on 34 .
